INNOVATION ON THE LEADING EDGE
OF GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY

Azurent is at the forefront of environmental sustainability initiatives. For starters, we’re developing Tier 1 utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects. We’re also working to create new carbon projects and site new data centers powered by environmentally responsible clean energy. Our renewable energy credits and carbon offsets originate from a panoramic portfolio of domestic and international source projects showcasing the full range of technology types and adhering to the highest standards with approval earned from the world’s leading carbon registries.

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT

Solar Development

Large-scale solar PV projects, often co-located with battery energy storage, help utilities cost effectively deliver clean renewable power. Azurent’s continually growing pipeline currently features 27 projects with 4,100+ megawatts of combined generating capacity and 1,600+ megawatts of energy storage in 15 U.S. states located coast to coast.

Grid-Tied Energy Storage

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) bring multiple technical, financial and regulatory benefits. Among them are the abilities to smooth solar output, shave peak electric demand, store excess solar during the day to discharge in evening hours and improve grid stability. Azurent develops BESS both stand-alone and paired with solar.

Land Management

When selecting a solar and/or BESS site, Azurent evaluates a broad set of factors such as proximity to transmission infrastructure, permitting issues, community support and environmental dynamics. Ideally, the potential site extends 1,000 acres beyond the project footprint to allow for future growth or potential data center development.

Federal Tax Credits

Azurent seeks to earn maximum federal tax benefits for solar and BESS projects. This takes the form of prompt construction starts, use of only USA-made materials, reliance on locally available goods and services where possible, local apprenticeships and more. Compliance allows for more affordable power production and maximum rate of return.

ENVIRONMENTAL CREDITS AND OFFSETS

Global Reach

Azurent brings together buyers and sellers from all corners of the globe. The market reach currently extends to 420+ carbon, domestic renewable energy and international (I-REC) source projects located in 64 countries in North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Pacific Rim.

Broad Portfolio

Many and varied technologies are found in Azurent’s diverse portfolio. The 27 project types range from the more standard wind and solar RECs to credits from large and small hydro, biomass, geothermal, cookstoves, wood sequestration, anaerobic digestion, grasslands restoration, energy efficiency, safe water access and biochar.

All Leading Registries

Carbon registries are central, trusted platforms that issue, track and retire carbon credits, serving to prevent double-counting and ensure market integrity. Azurent only offers emissions reductions verified by one of 18 premium registries, such as the American Carbon Registry, the Climate Action Reserve, Verra and the Gold Standard.

Tailored Solutions

With Azurent’s cafeteria-style service, clients are free to specify project technology type, registry standard, geographic location, vintage and term length. Azurent designs a blend of domestic or internationally sourced credits and offsets tailored to the customer’s needs and preferences.
